New programs offered by Laurel County Sheriff's Office

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is pleased to announce that  the Laurel County Sheriff's Office can provide a deputy to conduct classes/presentations/training for churches, civic/social groups, clubs, and businesses on a variety of topics to include:

  • Financial Protections (counterfeit detection, fraud prevention, identity theft, etc) (Adults)
  • Identity Theft (Adults)
  • Social Media and today’s crimes (presentations available for children OR adults)
  • Drugs and Teens-what parents should know (Adults)
  • Human Trafficking Awareness (Adults)
  • Women’s Safety (Adults)
  • Children’s Safety (presentations available for children OR adults)
  • Safety Starts at Home (Adults)
  • In addition, during spring, summer, and fall the Sheriff's office will continue to present the three & four day women's self-defense class and Laurel 2.0 classes( Youth Safety 3 day training class).

    Interested persons or groups should contact Special Deputy Elizabeth Sparks of the Laurel County Sheriff's office at 606-864-6600 to schedule a program. The programs will be provided free of charge.
