Fatal Traffic Crash / Rockcastle County


London, Ky. (February 12, 2018) –On Sunday, February 11, 2018 at approximately 9:00 AM, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a report of a single-vehicle traffic crash with a fatality on US HWY 25 in the Mount Vernon community of Rockcastle County.

Upon arrival, Trooper Seath Whiles determined that a 2009 Chrysler van operated by Anthony Frederick, 56, of Paint Lick, KY was traveling southbound when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree head-on.

Frederick, who was not wearing a seatbelt was pronounced dead at the scene by the Rockcastle County Coroner’s Office.

Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the collision.

Trooper Whiles is continuing the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by Brindle Ridge Fire Department, Rockcastle County Rescue Squad, Rockcastle County EMS and the Rockcastle County Coroner’s Office.
