KSP - Arrest made in Laurel County School Threat

London, Ky. (February 20, 2018) – On Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at approximately 8:00 AM, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a call about a social media post threatening North Laurel Middle School in Laurel County.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 15-year-old male who attends North Laurel Middle School sent a message to another student threatening to shoot up the school on Tuesday morning.

Trooper Jack Riley located the juvenile at North Laurel Middle School shortly after receiving the complaint. The juvenile was arrested and lodged in the Breathitt County Juvenile Detention Center on the charge of two counts Terroristic Threatening 2nd Degree.

Trooper Riley is continuing the investigation. He was assisted by Troopers from Post 11 and Laurel County Schools Safety and Security Director Bobby Day.
