Man arrested at South Laurel High School on multiple charges

London, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Sgt. Brett Reeves along with Deputy Bryon Lawson, Sgt. Josh Gaylor, and London City Police officer Justin Hopkins and KSP Trooper Jack Riley arrested Josh Hampton age 25 of London on Wednesday morning February 21, 2018 at approximately 8:37 AM.

The arrest occurred while officers from numerous agencies were on school grounds at South Laurel High School conducting a school visit when school employees reported that a male subject wearing an orange shirt was on campus creating a disturbance.

Officers located the male subject in front of the school and conducted an investigation determining that he was under the influence.

Josh Hampton was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances; disorderly conduct – second degree; terroristic threatening – second degree; menacing; and criminal trespassing – second-degree and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

No weapons were found on this individual.
