Kentucky Veterans Cemetery South East
My name is Vaughda Wooten (First Sergeant, U.S. Army Retired) and I am the Director of the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery South East (KVCSE) in Hyden, KY. KVCSE provides secure, dignified interment to veterans and their families within a 75-mile radius of the Cemetery.
On behalf of the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs, which operates the cemetery, I would like to let all Veterans and their families know the services KVCSE offers.
The requirements for Interment are as follows:
Some members of the National Guard or Reserve Units may qualify for interment. Please call 606-672-2168 for more information.
If the Veteran meets the requirements above, I will approve the request. Dependents of the Veteran, including spouse and minor children, are automatically eligible for interment with the Veteran.
The cost of interment is $0 for the Veteran. There is a charge of $500 for interring each dependent.
We have double-depth vaults that accommodate both a Veteran and spouse in caskets. We have in-ground interment of cremated remains with a headstone, Columbarium Wall niches and a Scattering Garden. Both in-ground and Columbarium wall niches accommodate two urns.
