Clay County, KY - The new Curry Branch Road bridge was tentatively expected to be open by Wednesday November 14, 2018.

However, according to workers at the site, construction has been slowed significantly by wet weather.

Curry Branch Road has been closed to through traffic for nearly 2 weeks and, it appears now that Thanksgiving or even later may be a more realistic time frame for its re-opening.

The road closure is necessary to allow contractors to construct the grade to the new bridge. Motorists will need to continue using Crawfish Road (CR 1264) as an alternate route.

Message boards have been placed on KY 80 to notify motorists of the closure, and signs placed on Curry Branch Road notify local traffic.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expect long delays and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.

Motorists can access travel and traffic conditions at http://goky.ky.gov or contribute their own reports at www.waze.com or via the Waze mobile application.
