Baseball bat allegedly used in Assault / Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Jake Miller along with Deputy Jamie Etherton, Deputy Taylor McDaniel and Capt. Kevin Berry arrested two individuals off West City Dam Road approximately 12 miles South of London on Sunday afternoon February 24, 2019 at approximately 12:45 PM.

The arrests occurred after deputies were dispatched to a fight complaint off West City Dam Rd.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies conducted an investigation and learned that allegedly a male and female subject had assaulted a female victim there.

Deputies also learned that a weapon allegedly used in the assault –A baseball bat had been removed from the scene and was located by deputies in another building across the street.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

  • Samuel L. Asberry age 22 of West City Dam Rd., Keavy charged with assault – 4th   degree; tampering with physical evidence; resisting arrest.
  • Sandra Kimberly Lovins age 34 of West City Dam Rd., Keavy charged with assault – 4th   degree; tampering with physical evidence.
  • These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
