KSP Investigates Escaped Inmate in Lee County

BEATTYVILLE, Ky. (June 7, 2019) –The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is looking for an inmate that escaped from a corrections transport van in Lee County on Thursday June 6, 2019.

The initial investigation alleges that Jamie D Vires, 39 years old of Jackson, KY, escaped from a corrections transport van at approximately 12:55 PM Thursday on KY HWY-11 South.

He is described as being 6’1” tall, weighing 190 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. Jamie Vires was in jail serving a sentence for:

  • Receiving Stolen Property
  • Burglary 1st Degree
  • Theft By Unlawful Taking
  • Assault 2nd Degree
  • Promoting Contraband 1st Degree
  • Trafficking a Controlled Substance 1st Degree

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Detective Charles Bowling.
