Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Gary Mehler along with Deputy Robert Reed arrested two individuals off Dean Hundley Road, approximately 5 miles north of London on Saturday night June 15, 2019 at approximately 6:50 PM.
The arrests occurred after deputies were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle complaint there and upon arrival in the area were contacted by individuals at a residence and learned that apparently two subjects- a male and female driving a white colored Nissan Altima had been knocking on people’s doors and bothering people along the Dean Hundley Road.
In one instance, allegedly the two entered a garage attempting to take a gas can and were run off by the resident there.
Deputies were able to locate the suspect vehicle and the male and female subject and found that both had outstanding warrants, the female subject had three glass pipes believed to be used for smoking meth and an EBT card belonging to someone else.
The male subject was found in possession of a hypodermic needle and told deputies they were on their way to get meth.
The two arrested individuals were identified as:
Victoria Woollums age 35 of Stone Gap Road, Manchester charged with:
- Criminal trespass – first-degreePossession of drug paraphernalia
- Knowingly fraudulently using ID card or electronic code for benefits
- A Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of possession of a controlled substance – – first offense – second-degree
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of marijuana
James H Smith age 36 of Wick Hill Road, Manchester charged with:
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Criminal trespass – first-degree
- A Knox District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of giving officer false identifying information
- Theft – receipt of stolen credit card more than two cards
- Receiving stolen property under $500
- Criminal possession of a forged instrument – third-degree
- Theft by deception including cold checks under $500
- A Knox District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on three traffic offenses
- A Laurel District Court warrant of arrest obtained by KSP detective Leslie Strong charging unlawful use of electronic means originating or received within the Commonwealth to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities
These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Corrections Center.
