Fugitive arrest at complaint in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Brad Mink along with Deputy Taylor McDaniel, Sgt. Jack Caudill, and Bailiff Brent France arrested Roger T. Lovell, Jr. age 45 of Crossville Road, Tenn. on Wednesday afternoon June 19, 2019 at approximately 12:40 PM.

The arrest occurred off Victory Road, approximately 8 miles northeast of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a refusal to leave a residence there. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies located this subject and conducted an investigation.

During the investigation this individual gave deputies a false Social Security number.

When deputies determined his correct Social Security number they learned that he was a wanted fugitive --wanted out of Arkansas. In addition, this subject was also wanted on an outstanding warrant in Kentucky.

Roger T. Lovell was charged with:

  • Giving officer false identifying information
  • Being a fugitive from the state of Arkansas
  • A Russell County Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging contempt of court regarding charges of:
    1. Criminal mischief – first-degree
    2. Theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000
    3. Two counts of burglary third-degree

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Corrections Center.
