Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Gary Mehler arrested Douglas A. Nevels age 31 of East Bernstadt on Saturday evening June 22, 2019 at approximately 6:33 PM.
The arrest occurred off West Highway 1376, approximately 4 miles north of London while Deputy Mehler served a court process and noted during his contact with this individual that he appeared to be under the influence.
An investigation was conducted and this individual was determined to be under the influence.
In addition, this individual was found in possession of hypodermic needles, and a crushed can with a soaked portion of a Suboxone strip on it.
Douglas A. Nevels was charged with:
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Corrections Center.
