Clay County, Ky. - Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on July 17, 2019 at approximately 12:40 PM Clay County Chief Deputy Clifton Jones and CSO Wes Brumley arrested Charles Rodney Smith, 43 of Saplin Fork Road and Mary Truett, 48 of Paces Creek Road.
The arrest occurred when Deputies observed the male individual outside of a residence and through acknowledgment of the warrant system knew the subject had a Clay County Warrant of Arrest.
Upon further investigation, information of a female subject was ran through Clay County Dispatch and showed she had active warrants for her arrest.
Charles Rodney Smith was charged with:
• Serving Clay County Indictment Warrant
• Serving Clay County Warrant of Arrest
• Public Intoxication of Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)
Mary Truett was charged with:
• Serving Clay County Indictment Warrant
• Public Intoxication of Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)
Assisting at the scene was Clay County CSO Supervisor Dewey Grubb and Public Affairs Officer Trent Baker.
