Police Chase on South Highway 421 in Clay County

Clay County, Ky. -  Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on July 19, 2019 at approximately 2:00 AM Clay County Sheriff Deputy Tommy Houston and Deputy Wes Brumley arrested Felicia Simpson, 28 of PawPaw Road.

The arrest occurred when Deputies was patrolling South Highway 421 when they attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle occupied by a male driver and female passenger.

Deputy Houston initiated his emergency lights at which time the driver accelerated the motorcycle with attempt to evade police

The police chase came to a stop on South Highway 421 approximately 6 miles after the traffic stop was initiated, at which time driver and passenger both left the motorcycle and attempted to run on foot.

After a brief foot pursuit the female subject was apprehended, Deputies and Officers on scene attempted to search for the male driver at which time was unsuccessful.

During the investigation the female passenger gave false identifying information to Deputy Houston, it was later determined the correct identity of the female individual.

Felicia Simpson was charged with:

  • Serving Bench Warrant For Court
  • Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
  • Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree (On Foot)
  • Giving Officer False Name or Address
  • Theft of Identity of Another Without Consent
