Clay County, Ky. - Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on July 19, 2019 at approximately 5:30 AM Clay County Sheriff Deputy Brandon Edwards arrested Jimmy Davidson, 37 of Dark Hollow Road and Kayla Hoskins, 36 of Collins Gibson Road.
The arrests occurred when Deputy Edwards conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic stop violations.
Upon running the information of the vehicle with Clay County Dispatch it showed the license plate that was on the vehicle was stolen and belonged to a different car, upon initial contact Deputy Edwards observed a firearm in plain sight.
Deputy Edwards conducted his investigation at which time showed the male individual was a convicted felon. It was confirmed through Clay County Dispatch that the male individual had an active warrant for his arrest out of Letcher County.
Deputy Edwards received consent to search the vehicle at which time he located several plastic baggies of Methamphetamine, a plastic baggie of Heroin and a large quantity of Methamphetamine.
On the person of the female individual was a baggie of Methamphetamine and Marijuana.
Jimmy Davidson was charged with:
- Flagrant Non-Support Warrant (Letcher County)
- Possession of a handgun by convicted felon
- Possession of Controlled Substance 1st (Heroin)
- Trafficking a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
Kayla Hoskins was charged with:
- Rear License not Illuminated
- Improper Display of Registration Plate
- Failure to Produce Insurance Card
- Public Intoxication of Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Heroin)
- Possession of Marijuana
- Trafficking a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
