One person airlifted & another injured following crash on Belles Fork in Clay County

Clay County, Ky. - The City Of Manchester Fire Department is reporting that: At approximately 7:00 PM on Friday July 19, 2019 Manchester & Lockard’s Creek Fire Units were dispatched by Clay County 911 to a possible motor vehicle accident with injury on Belles Fork Road on KY 149.

Upon arrival units discovered that a vehicle had traveled approximately 150 feet over an embankment where it came to rest after striking a tree. While on scene it was determined one subject was ejected out of the vehicle due to no seatbelt and was transported by Air Evac LifeTeam to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for his injuries.

One other female passenger was transported via Clay County EMS to the AdventHealth Manchester Facility for medical treatment.

Emergency Personnel remained on scene until Allen’s Towing & Recovery was able to recover the vehicle from the embankment and assisted the Kentucky State Police with traffic control.

Units cleared the scene with no further incident.

The Kentucky State Police will be investigating the accident.
