Clay County, Ky. - Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on August 7, 2019 at approximately 9:30 PM Clay County Sheriff Deputy Tommy Houston arrested George Williams, 26 of Bowling Branch Road.
The arrest occurred when Deputy Houston was dispatched to a complaint of a possible male individual passed out behind the wheel of an automobile at a Gas Station on South Highway 421.
Upon arrival Deputy Houston made contact with the subject standing outside of the automobile with two young juvenile children in the back seat.
Upon contact and through investigation Deputy Houston determined the subject was manifestly under the influence, the driver attempted to pull a vial out of his pocket with intent on concealing the evidence.
Once the driver was placed under arrest, an assortment of illegal substances were located inside the vial.
Through confirmation with Clay County Dispatch it showed the subject had two warrants for his arrest.
Social Services was called to the scene and children was released into custody of next of kin.
The driver was transported to AdventHealth where he refused to submit to a blood test.
George Williams was charged with:
• Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of ALC/DRUGS/ETC.
• Tampering with Physical Evidence
• Wanton Endangerment- 1st Degree
• Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
• Serving Bench Warrant for Court
• Serving Bench Warrant for Court
