3 arrested in Knox County during complaint investigation

Gray, Ky. (September 16, 2019) - The Knox County, Ky Sheriff's Department is reporting that: On Saturday, September 14, 2019 Knox County Deputies Bobby Jones, James Fox and SGT Carl Frith traveled to a residence on Rucker Lane in Gray after receiving a complaint of drug trafficking activity.

While at the residence, a vehicle driven by Kenneth Mills pulled up to the residence. While checking the driver, Deputy Fox observed a plastic bag of suspected Marijuana inside the vehicle. After conducting an investigation, a plastic bag containing suspected Methamphetamine, a Meth pipe and a semi-auto handgun were also located.

The driver, Kenneth William Mills age 44 of Gray, KY was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree, Trafficking in marijuana-less than 8 ounces and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

While the deputies were there a second vehicle pulled up but turned around and left after the driver saw the deputies. The vehicle was stopped by SGT Frith who arrested Obie Mills JR age 59 of Gray, KY after methamphetamine and hydrocodone were found in his possession.

He was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree and Possession of Controlled Substance-2nd Degree.

Back at the residence on Bark Lane a third vehicle pulled up to the residence. After the deputies checked the driver, Duane Byrge age 34 of Gray, KY, he was arrested and charged with Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operators License, Failure to Produce Insurance Card and No Registration Receipt.

Duane Byrge was also wanted on two Knox County Bench Warrants for failure to pay the fines on numerous traffic charges and Contempt of Court and an Owsley County Bench Warrant for failure to appear on Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition and Contempt of Court charges.

All three men were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
