Parents jailed after Police in Laurel County discover small children living in unfit conditions

Laurel County, Ky. (Sept. 17, 2019) -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Allen Turner along with Deputy Brent France arrested two individuals on Monday night September 16, 2019 at approximately 8:30 PM.

The arrests occurred off David Hibbitts Lane approximately 2 miles west of London while deputies were assisting Constable David Griffith with a writ of possession there.

Upon arrival at the scene officers made contact with the residents of the home there and upon entry to the residence found the living conditions were unfit for anyone to live in – the floor was covered in trash and spoiled food.

Deputies noted four small children living there ages 2 through 12.

The parents of the children were arrested and are identified as:

Christopher Bowling age 39 of London charged with:

  • Four counts of criminal abuse – third-degree – child 12 or under. 
  • A Pulaski District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on numerous traffic violations

Brandy Bowling age 34 of London charged with:

  • Four counts of criminal abuse – third-degree – child 12 or under

Social services was called to the scene to take custody of the children.

The two accused individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
