Man arrested for Meth after fleeing Laurel Sheriff & deputies

Laurel County, Ky. (October 9, 2019) - The Laurel County Sheriff's Office is reporting that: Sheriff John Root, along with Deputy Taylor McDaniel, Deputy Joey Robinson, and Deputy Landry Collett arrested Freddy Wayne Scalf age 27 of Chapel Rd., East Bernstadt on Wednesday afternoon October 9, 2019 at approximately 1:29 PM.

The arrest occurred off Old Crab Orchard Road, approximately 3 miles north of London after deputies observed an ATV being operated on the highway.

When the driver of the ATV observed deputies, he pulled into a driveway and attempted to flee on foot. Following a short foot chase, the suspect briefly struggled with the Sheriff and deputies before being taken into custody.

This individual was found in possession of suspected Methamphetamine.

Freddy Scalf was charged with:

  • No operator's license
  • All-terrain vehicle violation
  • Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Resisting arrest

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
