Assistance from K9 "Ghost" leads to Arrest during Traffic Stop in Clay County

Clay County, Ky. (October 25, 2019) -  Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on Friday,October 25, 2019 at approximately 12:30 AM Clay County Sheriff Deputy Wes Brumley conducted a traffic stop on South Highway 421 where Clay County Sheriff K9 handler Deputy Brandon Edwards with his K9 "Ghost" assisted him.

Further investigation determined the passenger of the vehicle had an active warrant of arrest.

Through consent to search of the vehicle from the owner, K9 "Ghost" alerted to the possibility of illegal substances. Based on the K9 alert, Deputies located a suspected illegal substance and drug paraphernalia.

Samantha Henson age 31 of South Highway 421 was charged with:

• Serving Bench Warrant for Court

David Jones age 30 of Muddy Gap Road was charged with:

• Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
• Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess

Assisting at the scene was Manchester City Police Officer Jeff Couch and K9 Officer Ryan Jackson. 

K9 Deputy Brandon Edwards is in charge of the investigation.
