CCDC Deputy Jailer locates Contraband during booking process of subject

Clay County, Ky. (October 25, 2019) - Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on Friday, October 25, 2019 Clay County Sheriff K9 Deputy Brandon Edwards arrested two individuals off South Highway 421.

Arrested was:

Travis Box age 20 of Chop Bottom Road and James Jarvis age 50 of Crawfish Road.

The arrests occurred when K9 Deputy Brandon Edwards conducted a traffic stop for vehicle infractions on South Highway 421.

Further investigation determined the driver was operating on suspended operator license and could not produce an insurance card.

The passenger of the vehicle was also arrested due to being manifestly under the influence of intoxicants, K9 Deputy Brandon Edwards located Drug Paraphernalia on the person of the passenger.

During the booking process with Clay County Detention Center, Deputy Jailer Tyler Jackson located a plastic baggy with a white powdery substance belonging to the passenger of the vehicle.

Travis Box age 20 was charged with:

• Improper Equipment
• Driving DUI Suspended License
• Failure to Produce Insurance Card

James Jarvis age 50 was charged with:

• Public Intoxication of Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)
• Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess
• Promoting Contraband- 1st Degree
