Laurel County, Ky. (October 27, 2019) - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff's Detective Sgt.Chris Edward's while investigating a vehicle crash arrested a London man on Sunday morning October 27, 2019 at 6:26 AM.
Arrested was: Jordan Obenauer age 24 of London, Ky.
The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Sheriff's office regarding an overnight UTV crash which occurred off U.S.25, approx. 8 miles north of London.
Investigators report that allegedly Obenauer was operating a 2016 Can-Am Maverick when it crashed resulting in the death of a 17 year old passenger from Barbourville.
She was transported to St. Saint Joseph London where she was pronounced deceased.
Jordan Obenauer was charged with:
- Murder
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center
Assisting was: Detective James Sizemore, Deputy Shannon Jones, Deputy Josh Morgan, and Deputy Tommy Houston.
Also assisting was: Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, London Laurel Rescue Squad, Laurel County Coroner's office, Laurel County Emergency Management, and East Bernstadt Fire Department.
