Laurel County, Ky. (November 2, 2019) - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Sgt. Greg Poynter arrested Mark Collins age 51 of Manchester on Thursday afternoon October 31, 2019 at approximately 3:57 PM.
The arrest occurred off Hammock Road, approximately 4 miles South of London after Sgt. Poynter was dispatched to a complaint of a subject at a residence not his own refusing to leave.
Upon arrival at the scene Sgt. Poynter located this individual passed out on the floor and upon awakening him this individual became angry and stated he was not leaving.
The subject was determined to be under the influence.
This subject threatened to kill Sgt. Poynter and following a brief struggle was taken into custody and placed in the back of the police cruiser.
Mark Collinsl was charged with:
- Criminal trespassing – second-degree
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
- Terroristic threatening – third-degree
- Resisting arrest
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
