Laurel County, Ky. (October 8, 2019) - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Kyle Gray arrested Bryan N. Mounts age 37 of Parker Rd., London on Friday night November 8, 2019 at approximately 7:36 PM.
The arrest occurred in London following an investigation into a robbery which occurred at the Dollar General Store approximately 1 mile west of London off Highway 192 on November 4, 2019 at approximately 3:11 PM.
Allegedly, the suspect took a cell phone off the shelf there and following a scuffle with the assistant store manager, the suspect shoved the assistant manager causing injuries to her arm and shoulder and ran out into the parking lot and fled the scene.
Surveillance video was obtained from the store and placed on the Sheriff's office Facebook page and distributed to TV stations and newspapers in the area resulting in numerous tips being received by the Sheriff's detectives and a suspect was identified.
On Friday night November 8, while sheriff’s detectives and deputies were attempting to locate the suspect, London PD Officer Patrick Nunley, and Officer Jacob Borman received a tip on our suspect’s location at a business in London where they located him and transported him to Laurel Sheriff’s Office where the suspect was interviewed by sheriff’s detective Kyle Gray.
Bryan N. Mounts was charged with:
- Robbery – second-degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
Assisting on the investigation for the Sheriff's office were: Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards, Sgt. Greg Poynter, Lieut. Robbie Grimes, Capt. Kevin Berry, Deputy Travis Napier, Deputy Brent France, Deputy Brad Mink, Deputy Landry Collett, Deputy Allen Turner, Deputy James Fox, Bailiff Tony Anders, and Bailiff Roy Ball.
Laurel Sheriff John Root would like to thank all citizens who provided tips and information to the Sheriff's office, and London City Police who assisted Sheriff's detectives in identifying and arresting the suspect in this case.
