Traffic Stop in Clay Co. results in multiple charges for Goose Rock resident

MANCHESTER, KY (November 10, 2019) - Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on November 8, 2019 at approximately 6:00 PM Clay County Chief Deputy Clifton Jones arrested Megan Smith, 25 of Goose Rock.

The arrest occurred when Chief Deputy Jones conducted a traffic stop for vehicle infractions.

During contact with the driver, Chief Deputy Jones noted the subject was acting extremely nervous.

Through further investigation it was determined the driver was under the influence of intoxicants.

While being placed under arrest the subject became combative toward Chief Deputy Jones, after a brief struggle the subject was placed under arrest without further incident. 

Megan Smith was charged with:

• Resisting Arrest
• Operating Motor vehicle under the influence of ALC/DRUGS/ETC
• No Registration Plate
• Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree
