LONDON, KY (November 12, 2019) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Joey Robinson along with Deputy Taylor McDaniel arrested Johnny D. Burdine age 62 of London on Tuesday morning November 12, 2019 at approximately 6:52 AM.
The arrest occurred off Somerset Road, in London after deputies were dispatched to an out-of-control male subject there. Upon arrival at the scene deputies located a female subject there inside the glassed in window of the front door who stated that she had been padlocked inside the residence by her husband and not allowed to leave.
In addition, she stated that the male subject threatened to kill her if she left.
Deputies could hear the male subject in the basement yelling and beating on something.
Deputies forced the front door open allowing the female subject to exit the residence. The male subject then came running through the house toward deputies with a large crowbar and a hammer and after being asked multiple times to drop the weapons, this subject dropped the weapons and came running onto the front porch yelling and cursing and creating a disturbance there.
Deputies determined that the male subject was under the influence.
Johnny Burdine was charged with:
- Unlawful imprisonment – first-degree
- Disorderly conduct – second-degree
- Resisting arrest
- Menacing
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
