LONDON, KY. (November 24, 2019) - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Deputy Joey Robinson Along with Deputy Taylor McDaniel arrested Jessica Melancon age 33 of McDonough, Georgia on Saturday morning November 23, 2019 at approximately 9:26 AM.
The arrest occurred off Laurel Lake Road, North, approximately 9 miles southwest of London after deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle traffic crash there involving a silver colored car.
Earlier deputies and London City Police were dispatched to multiple calls on I–75 southbound that a silver Nissan car was possibly occupied by an intoxicated driver, however the vehicle had not been located.
When deputies arrived at the scene of the crash, they located a silver Nissan Versa and conducted an investigation on the driver, who was determined to be under the influence.
This individual was found in possession of multiple empty alcoholic beverage containers and openly admitted she had used Heroin three hours earlier. This individual was found in possession of both capped and uncapped hypodermic needles.
Jessica Melancon was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence
- Possession of alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
