Drug activity complaints investigated in Knox County

SUSPECTS GROW DRUGS

Bryants Store, KY (November 26, 2019) - The Knox County Sheriff's Department is reporting that: On November 22, 2019 Knox County Deputies Mikey Ashurst and Bobby Jones responded to a residence on Four Mile Hollow Road in Bryants Store after receiving complaints of drug activity.

 While making contact with the owner, Deputy Ashurst detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the residence. During the investigation deputies located a clear plastic bag containing suspected crystal Methamphetamine, several small pink plastic bags, syringes and a set of digital scales.

Deputies also located an indoor grow operation containing 10 Marijuana plants and a shotgun.

Denny R. King age 52 of Bryants Store, KY was arrested and charged with:

  • Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Cultivating Marijuana-over 5 plants.

A female present at the residence, Brittany Cox age 22 of Bryants Store, KY, was also arrested on:

  • A Knox County Circuit Court Bench Warrant for a Parole Violation

Denny King and Brittany Cox were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

Barbourville City Officer Carl Middleton assisted in the arrests.
