LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Kevin Berry arrested Diane L. McQueen age 52 of Somerset Rd., London on Wednesday afternoon February 5, 2020 at approximately 4:26 PM.
The arrest occurred off US 25 approximately 9 miles north of London after Sheriff's detectives and deputies with assistance from Kentucky State Police conducted an investigation into the reported theft of a yellow colored 1979 Chevrolet Corvette valued at $22,000 stolen in Laurel County.
The investigation began at 8:30 Wednesday morning and after developing numerous leads Detective Berry was able to locate and recover the stolen vehicle approximately eight hours after the theft report. The vehicle was located near a service station off exit 49 on I–75 approximately 9 miles north of London.
In addition, as the investigation continued a female suspect was located-- the keys to the reported stolen vehicle were found in her possession.
Arrested was - Diane L. McQueen charged with:
- Theft by unlawful taking – auto – $10,000 or more
In addition, this subject was charged on:
- 3 failure to appear in court warrants
Also arrested on unrelated charges was - Tonya K. Proffit age 51 of Old Hare Rd., East Bernstadt charged on:
- Two failure to appear in court Laurel District Court bench warrants
These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
