LONDON, KY - (February 12, 2020) - Laurel County Jailer Jamie Mosley is reporting that: At approximately 10:10 A.M. this morning Laurel County Correctional Officers Chris Roark and Mike Davis were able to locate and bring back into custody an inmate that had walked away from a work release assignment.
The subject --Jason Rice, had walked away from a work release assignment near the Levi Jackson Park 3 miles from London on Highway 229-Old Barbourville Road late yesterday afternoon.
Mr. Rice was located in a trailer park off of Barbourville Road near Benge’s Grocery.
Laurel County Corrections staff searched all night and this morning attempting to locate the subject.
Jailer Mosley said "I would like to thank our entire staff for being relentless in the pursuit of the subject to bring this to a quick resolution and return him back into custody. I would also like to thank Sheriff Root and his entire staff for their assistance and support during the search."
