CINCINNATI, OH – March 13, 2020 –The City of Lexington and its Mayor Linda Gorton recently honored Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road with a proclamation designating March 10 as Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road Day.

The proclamation was issued in conjunction with a new patch program that honors the legacy and spirit of the women’s suffrage movement and teaches girls and young women the importance of exercising their right to vote. 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment that granted women the right to vote, and this Girl Scouts patch program celebrates the Women’s Suffrage Centennial.
