MANCHESTER, KY - The Clay County Sheriffs Office is reporting that: Sheriff Patrick Robinson would like to inform the citizens of Clay County that the Administration building will be shut down until April 10, 2020.
During the shutdown of the building the Clay County Sheriff’s Office will be fully operational when it comes to meeting the needs of the citizens.
Deputies will still continue to be out full force in all areas of the county 24 hours a day.

If you are wanting to pay your Standard, Gas or Oil tax bill you can mail in a check or money order provided on the bill or simply call and we can further assist you.

MANCHESTER, KY - On March 16, 2020, Clay County Judge/Executive, Johnny Johnson, declared a State of Emergency in Clay County, Kentucky, in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
In light of this measure and to protect the health and safety of county employees and the citizens of Clay County, effective March 17, 2020, the Clay County Administration Building, which houses the Judge Executive’s Office (Johnny Johnson), Sheriff’s Office (Patrick Robinson), Clay County Clerk’s Office (Mike Baker), PVA Office (Phillip Mobley) and Soil Conservation Office, will be closed to the public through April 10, 2020. Also, the Clay County Ambulance Service Building will be closed to the public.
AMBULANCE SERVICE AND LAW ENFORCEMENT WILL CONTINUE TO RESPOND TO ALL EMERGENCY CALLS. The only restriction being imposed at this time is that members of the general public are not allowed to enter the buildings that house those services.
The County Clerk’s Office and Sheriff’s Office will still process vehicle registration and tax payments by mail. Staff in each of those offices will be available by phone to answer questions and provide guidance on how to process paperwork by mail.
Until further notice the Clay County Community Building (Crawdad Building) will be closed to the public and will be set aside as an emergency quarantine facility. All events currently booked for use of the Community Building are cancelled until further notice.
The Solid Waste Facility and Clay County Animal Shelter will both be closed to the public.
As of this publication, there have been no known positive tests for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Clay County. These steps are being taken to prevent the spread of the virus and keep the number of infected citizens as low as possible.
