LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Justin Taylor along with Deputy James Fox arrested Michael J. Wagers age 51 of London early Saturday morning April 18, 2020 at approximately 2:28 AM.
The arrest occurred off Sasser Road, approximately 12 miles east of London after deputies were dispatched to a disturbance complaint there.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies made contact with this subject outside in the driveway noting that he was unsteady on his feet and had an odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from him.
An investigation was conducted where deputies learned that allegedly a physical altercation had occurred between this subject and a female victim there where he reportedly grabbed her, shoved her and hit her with a closed fist in the side of her head.
Deputies found this subject in possession of digital scales coated with a white residue and several used and unused hypodermic syringes.
Also, allegedly this individual had picked up the female victim's pet pig and squeezed it with both hands.
Michael J. Wagers was charged with:
- Assault – 4th degree
- Alcohol intoxication in a public place
- Cruelty to animals – second-degree
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
