FIRE 4 27 600

MANCHESTER, KY - The City of Manchester Fire Department is reporting that: At 7:28 PM on Monday, April 27, 2020 the City of Manchester Fire Department was dispatched by Clay County E-911 to Lyttleton Road to a structure fire.

FIRE 2 4 27 200

This call wasn’t like the others when we found out this was one of our own.

Upon arrival of Engine 7 & Engine 4 they laid 2 1/2 inch supply line about 350 feet to the residence for a water supply.

Once interior crews made entry into the structure they encountered heavy fire, heavy smoke, and very low visibility into the upstairs portion of the residence.

Interior crews was able to get a small knock on the head of the fire where the fire was contained to the upstairs portion of the residence.

Upon arrival of Ladder 1 crews cut a ventilation hole in the roof to relieve the interior crews of the heat and smoke which was successful making it easier for the interior attack team to be able to achieve an extensive knock of the fire before mopping up the residence.

All crews left the scene with no further incident.

We would like to specially thank Manchester Police Department and the Clay County Sheriffs Office for all the help on the scene.

We also would like to thank Burning Springs Fire Department for coming mutual aid to another structure in our district while we was working this one.

Assisted By: Clay County Sheriffs Office, Manchester Police Department, Kentucky Utilities, & Horse Creek Fire Department.
