Driver in Clay County, Kentucky found with pistol in vehicle unauthorized to possess a firearm

MANCHESTER, KY (May 17, 2020) - Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on May 16, 2020 at approximately 2:45 AM Clay County Sheriff Deputy Wes Brumley along with Deputy Kendric Smith arrested Timothy Wagers, 35 of Pat Campbell Road.

The arrest occurred on South Highway 421 when Deputy Brumley conducted a traffic stop for vehicle infractions.

Upon initial contact with the driver, the driver failed to provide a valid insurance card.

Through further investigation, Deputy Brumley located a pistol inside the vehicle and given the drivers background he was not authorized to have a firearm in his possession. 

Timothy Wagers was charged with:

• No Tail Lamps
• Failure to Produce Insurance Card
• Rear license not Illuminated
• Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
