LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Bryon Lawson along with Detective James Sizemore, Maj. Chuck Johnson, K-9 Deputy Jake Miller, Deputy Brent France, Sgt. Brett Reeves, and Deputy Allen Turner arrested Ernest Wayne Wagers age 56 of London on Tuesday afternoon June 2, 2020 at approximately 2:31 PM.
The arrest occurred off Morentown Road, approximately 1/2 mile north of London while deputies were investigating a drug activity complaint there.
Deputies found this subject in possession of:
- Scales
- Baggies
- A Meth pipe
- A .32 caliber pistol with the serial number ground off
Investigators noted that this subject is a convicted felon. In addition, this subject was wanted on numerous outstanding warrants.
Ernest Wayne Wagers was charged with:
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of a defaced firearm
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
Also this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:
- Failure to appear in court on charges of fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
- Resisting arrest
- Menacing
- Disorderly conduct – second-degree
- Possession of a controlled substance – first offense – second-degree
- Tampering with physical evidence
In addition, the subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:
- Failure to appear in court on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia
- Trafficking in Marijuana
The subject was also charged on a Whitley Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging:
- Failure to appear in court on charges of two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
