LONDON, KY (August 11, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Justin Taylor along with Deputy Landry Collett and Shift Sgt. John Inman arrested two individuals early Tuesday morning August 11, 2020 at approximately 2:24 AM.
The arrests occurred at I–75 and KY 909 approximately 10 miles north of London following a traffic stop for reckless driving conducted by deputies on a gray colored Chrysler Aspen.
Deputies found the two individuals in possession of suspected Methamphetamine, a glass smoking pipe, scales, and used plastic bags.
In addition, the driver and passenger were both found in possession of his and her 9mm pistols and it was learned through investigation that both were convicted felons.

The driver: Richard Zane Sewell age 37 of Oscar Carter Rd., Somerset charged with reckless driving; operating on suspended or revoked operator's license; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – Methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
In addition, this subject was charged on a Wayne County Circuit Court indictment warrant charging possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of Marijuana.
The passenger: Sunshine Herrin age 35 of Northern Crossing, Eubank, KY charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
