LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Tommy Houston along with Deputy Landry Collett, K-9 Deputy Gary Mehler & K-9 “Edge”, Detective Richard Dalrymple, and shift Sgt. John Inman arrested Mercedes Shilah Hart age 29 of Beatty Avenue, Corbin early Thursday morning September 3, 2020 at approximately 1:26 AM.
The arrest occurred in southern Laurel County at a motel off I–75 while deputies were conducting a drug investigation there.
Deputies found this individual in a room in possession of:
- Suspected Methamphetamine
- Suspected Suboxone
- Needles
- Digital scales
- Several baggies
Mercedes Hart was charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense
- Possession of Drug paraphernalia
- Tampering with Physical evidence
This subject attempted to dispose of the suspected Methamphetamine upon observing deputies there.
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
