PINEVILLE, KY - The Bell County Sheriff's Department is reporting that:On Monday afternoon November 9, 2020, at 2:43pm while investigating suspected drug activity on Bingham Lane.
Bell County K-9 Deputy Adam Southern and Deputy Marti Messer observed a black Dodge Durango parked in a driveway with a male subject identified as Jake Slusher standing beside the driver’s door.
Slusher saw the deputy’s cruiser coming towards him and ran from the area into a wooded area. He was unable to be found.
Inside the vehicle was 31-year-old Nikki Jo Bolinger of Harrogate, TN who exited the Durango as if to run but gave up as the deputy pulled in the driveway.
Deputy Southern had prior knowledge that Slusher has been involved in several drug cases in the area which prompted the deployment of K-9 Chan around the vehicle. Chan alerted on the driver’s side exterior of the Durango and a search was conducted.
Found in the search was a large bag containing three other bags of a crystal substance believed to be Methamphetamine (with a total weight of 95 grams) and $400 in cash on Bolinger. She was arrested and her vehicle was towed from the scene.
Also in the vehicle was a rear seat passenger, 25-year-old Marcus West of Louisville, Kentucky. West was found to have $773.00 in cash on him during the incident. He was also placed under arrest.
Both were lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with:
- Trafficking in controlled substance – 1st degree, 1st offense – greater than 2 grams (Methamphetamine)
Marcus West was also served a failure to appear warrant from Pineville Police Department.
