LONDON, KY (November 19, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Detectives and deputies arrested five individuals at locations throughout Laurel County on Wednesday evening November 18, 2020. Individuals were found wanted on outstanding warrants, in possession of drugs & a stolen firearm.
Investigators found suspected Methamphetamine, scales, glass pipes, and a reported stolen firearm.
Those arrested were identified as:
Jimmy Asher age 50 of Highway 1376, East Bernstadt arrested off Highway 490 approximately 5 miles north of London charged on:
- Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on numerous violations
Ronnie Lockaby age 41 of Jewel Ln., London arrested off Highway 770 approximately 12 miles South of London charged on:
- A Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging escape from EMCON, on charges of receiving stolen property under $10,000
Michael Yates age 35 of Bacon Creek Rd., Corbin arrested at a business off KY 770 approximately 12 miles South of London charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
Jason Carl Smith age 41 of Maplesville Rd., London arrested off Maplesville school Road approximately 7 miles east of London charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Possession of Drug paraphernalia
Jamie Blevins age 42 of McWhorter Road, London arrested off McWhorter Road approximately 5 miles east of London after being found in possession of:
- A reported stolen firearm – The weapon was reported stolen and investigated by the Corbin Police Department
All five individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
