Three Arrests By Sheriff's Investigators In Laurel County, Kentucky Following Ongoing Drug Investigations

LONDON, KY (December 7, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Taylor McDaniel along with Detective James Sizemore, Lieut. Chris Edwards, and Bailiff Jacklyn Johnson arrested three individuals on Friday, December 4, 2020 following ongoing drug investigations in Laurel County.

Sheriff's investigators found suspected methamphetamine, Suboxone, and an intoxicated individual.

Those arrested were identified as:

Michael D. Jones age 42 of Love Rd., London arrested at a residence off US 25 north of London charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – First-degree – First offense – Methamphetamine

Michael E. Whittemore age 47 of Little Arthur Ridge Rd., East Bernstadt arrested off Hawk Creek Road at a business approximately 5 miles west of London charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – Third-degree
  • Prescription controlled substances not in proper container – Second offense

Johnny Burkhart age 39 of East Bernstadt arrested off North Laurel Rd. at a business charged with:

  • Public intoxication – Controlled substances

All three individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
