LONDON, KY (December 10, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Hobie Daugherty along with Deputy Landry Collett, Deputy Justin Taylor, and shift Sgt. John Inman arrested two individuals early Thursday morning December 10, 2020 at approximately 2:15 AM.
The arrests occurred on I–75 approximately 3 miles north of London after Deputy Daugherty observed a black colored Dodge Durango weaving on the roadway traveling northbound on I–75.
A traffic stop was conducted and the two individuals were both determined to be under the influence.
Deputies also located a large amount of Marijuana and a large amount of US currency hidden in the vehicle.
The two arrested individuals were identified as:
Deandre Lamonta Gaither age 21 of Atlanta Georgia charged with:
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
- Trafficking in Marijuana
Alexander Amey, Jr. age 43 of Atlanta Georgia charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – First offense
- Trafficking in Marijuana
- Failure of nonowner operator to maintain required insurance – First offense
These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
