BARBOURVILLE, KY (December 12, 2020) - The Knox County Sheriff's Department is reporting that: Starting at 3:00 AM on Friday, December 11, 2020, Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith along with several deputies arrested multiple individuals for Controlled Substance Trafficking and related offenses.
These arrests were the result of undercover drug investigations conducted by The Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
In addition to the arrests deputies located and seized over $20,000 in cash & quantities of:
- Heroin
- Methamphetamine
- Suboxone
- Oxycodone
- Marijuana
- Various prescription medications
Also seized were several firearms from convicted felons.
Arrested for drug trafficking charges were:
Asher, Doug age 48 of Flat Lick, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
Baker, James age 40 of Bimble, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
Brock, Julia D. age 41 of Bimble, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
Clark, Dean age 29 of Flat Lick , KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
Edwards, Crystal age 42 of Bimble, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
Hammons, Frank age 51 of Artemus, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-2nd Degree (Oxycodon)
Hubbard, Jeremy age 30 of Pineville, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
Lunsford, Jimmy age 27 of Barbourville, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
Mason, Chris age 33 of Corbin, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
McVey, Bo age 34 of Flat Lick, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
Mills Jennifer K. age 30 of Scalf, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
Moore, Tony L. age 52 of Barbourville, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
Osborne, Brian age 40 of Artemus, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
Prince, Terry age 53 of Barbourville, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Oxycodone)
Rose, Shelly M. age 53 of Woodbine, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
Sproles, Michael age 41 of Barbourville, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
Woolum, Derrick age 27 of Barbourville, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
Also arrested during the round-up was:
Smith, Jackie age 42 of Mooresville, NC charged with:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
- Resisting Arrest
- Tampering With Physical Evidence
- Assault 4th Degree
Bowling, Freedom age 22 of Artemus, KY charged with:
- Contempt of Court
Hubbard, William age 25 of Barbourville, KY charged with:
- Contempt of Court
Downer, Jennifer age 38 of Artemus, KY charged with:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree
Crawford, Ashley age 27 of Louisville, KY charged with:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
These arrests are part of Sheriff Mike Smith’s continued crackdown on illegal drug trafficking in Knox County.
Operation UNITE and DEA assisted in the investigation.
Officers from the Barbourville City Police Department assisted in the arrests.
As a result of this undercover investigation, more arrests are forthcoming.
