LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler along with Deputy Marcus Stigall arrested two individuals on Monday evening January 18, 2021 at approximately 6:20 PM.
The arrests occurred off Ward Cemetery Road at a cemetery there after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of two subjects passed out in a silver Cadillac.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they located a silver Cadillac at the cemetery occupied by a female subject in the driver seat and a male subject in the passenger seat both who appeared to be passed out.
The door was found to be unlocked and deputies opened the door to check on the well-being of the two individuals and after numerous attempts were able to awaken the two individuals.
An investigation was conducted and the two individuals were determined to be under the influence – both stated they had purchased Heroin and drove to the cemetery to shoot up.
Deputies noted that the male passenger had no shoe or sock on his right foot and the suspect stated it was off because he shot up in the right ankle.
Deputies found the two individuals in possession of a white powdery substance which will be sent to the state crime lab to determine what drug it is.
Deputies noted that the substance was not field tested due to it possibly being Fentanyl which is very dangerous to handle.
In addition, deputies found the two individuals in possession of numerous hypodermic needles.
The two arrested individuals were identified as:
Randy Lee Collier age 26 of Taylor Bridge Rd., London, KY charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Opiates
- Public intoxication – Controlled substances
- Possession of Drug paraphernalia
Whitney Fawn Collier age 31 of Taylor Bridge Rd., London, KY charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Opiates
- Public intoxication – Controlled substances
- Possession of Drug paraphernalia
These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
