REPORT: A Kentucky Man that Allegedly Held a Knife to his Girlfriend’s Throat Found with Suspected Methamphetamine and a Glass Smoking Device

Vaughn arrest 2 4 21LONDON, KY (February 4, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Hobie Daugherty along with Deputy Landry Collett, Deputy Tommy Houston, Deputy Justin Taylor, and shift Sgt. John Inman arrested Mitchell Vaughn age 30 no address listed early Thursday morning February 4, 2021 at approximately 3:20 AM.

The arrest occurred off West Cumberland Gap Parkway in a business parking lot after deputies located two individuals in a vehicle there, finding the male subject in possession of suspected Methamphetamine and a glass smoking device.

In addition, through investigation deputies learned that apparently the male subject had held a knife to his girlfriend’s throat in the vehicle. The female subject received injuries as she tried to block the knife with her hand.

Mitchell Vaughn was charged with:

  • Assault – second-degree
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia

In addition, this individual was charged on a Knox District Court warrant of arrest charging:

  • Terroristic threatening third-degree regarding a case investigated by Knox County Sheriff's Deputy Carl Frith

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
