LONDON, KY (February 8, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Dylan Messer along with Deputy Jamie Etherton and Deputy Allen Turner with assistance from London City Police Officer Dillion Blair arrested Arnold W. Maggard age 34 of Corbin on Saturday afternoon February 6, 2021 at approximately 12:43 PM.

The arrest occurred on Sublimity Springs Road, approximately 4 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a male subject allegedly punching a female subject while the two were walking along Sublimity Springs Road.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they located the male and female subject walking along the roadway.

The male subject fled on foot upon seeing deputies and was located a short time later by Officer Dillion Blair with London City Police in a maroon colored vehicle in the vicinity.

Arnold Maggard was charged with:

  • Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
  • Resisting arrest
  • Giving officer false identifying information

Apparently, this individual gave deputies his brother's Social Security number because he thought he had outstanding warrants.

Arnold Maggard was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
