WILLIAMSBURG, KY (February 10, 2021) - The Whitley County Sheriff's Department is reporting that their office has conducted significant drug investigations over the past 10 days leading to drug related arrests and ongoing investigations.

Sgt. Jonas obtained search warrants for properties within Whitley County, some of those have been executed. Sgt. Jonas Saunders, Deputy Chad Estep, Deputy Chad Foley, Deputy Jason Strunk, and Deputy JB Coffee worked drug related leads for an extended period to reduce the influx of Methamphetamine into Whitley County.

Seized in Whitley Co KY

As a result of our investigations, Sgt. Jonas Saunders arrested Mary Hurst of Williamsburg for:

  • Trafficking in Methamphetamines
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia

Mrs. Hurst was transporting a large amount of Methamphetamine at the time she was arrested.

Deputy Chad Estep obtained arrest warrants for Ashley Sutton of Williamsburg for:

  • Trafficking in Methamphetamine
  • 2 counts of Controlled Substance
  • Endangerment of a Child
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Ashley Sutton was arrested by Williamsburg Police Officer Greg Rhodes, who along with Williamsburg Police assisted in locating Ms. Sutton.

Deputy Chad Estep arrested Ester Stevenson age 29 of Corbin, KY for:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine
  • Domestic Violence 4th

Deputy JB Coffee arrested Austin Epley age 24 of Woodbine, KY on separate charges for:

  • Drug related offenses near the Woodbine community

Austin Epley was arrested by Whitley deputies 48 hours prior to his 2nd arrest.

Deputy Chad Estep arrested Brent Stevens age 31 of KY for:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Other traffic related charges after a traffic stop in the area of New Zion Church Road

Deputy Chad Estep arrested James Mason age 31 of Rockholds, KY for:

  • Trafficking in Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after a traffic stop in the Rockholds community

Arrests unrelated to our drug investigations were as follows:

Lt. Dennis Foley arrested Christopher Dillon age 38 of Rockholds, KY for:

  • Strangulation 1st degree
  • 4th degree Domestic Violence

Deputy Chad Foley arrested Jacob Johnson age 24 of Williamsburg, KY for:

  • Stalking 2nd degree
  • Assault 4th, Domestic Violence

Deputy Chad Estep arrested Aaron Welch age 29 of KY for:

  • Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence
  • Driving DUI Suspended
  • Failure to Wear a Seatbelt after a traffic stop on Falls Highway
