Deputies Dispatched to a Complaint in Kentucky Locate a Convicted Felon from Ohio with Drugs & a Handgun Missing from an Evidence Locker in New York

LONDON, KY - (February 15, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's shift Sgt. John Inman along with Deputy James Fox arrested Jessie O. Pierce age 52 of East Lewis St., Corbin early Saturday morning February 13, 2021 at approximately 12:08 AM.

The arrest occurred at a service station off South Stewart Road approximately 12 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a male subject apparently passed out in his vehicle at the gas pumps.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they located a red Chevrolet pickup and a male subject who appeared to be passed out inside the vehicle.

After some difficulty awakening the occupant, deputies ordered the subject to exit the vehicle and as he did a handgun fell from the vehicle onto the ground.

Deputies conducted an investigation and found the occupant in possession of:

  • Methamphetamine
  • Suboxone
  • Xanax

Deputies determined that the occupant was under the influence. In addition, deputies learned that the occupant was a convicted felon from Ohio.

Deputies also learned that the handgun they recovered was the subject of an investigation by NYPD as a handgun missing from an evidence locker in the Bronx precinct there.

Also, it was learned that this subject had numerous outstanding bench warrants.

Jessie Pierce was charged with:

  • Possession of a handgun by a convicted felon
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a controlled substance – second-degree
  • Possession of a controlled substance – third-degree
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Public intoxication – controlled substances

In addition, this subject was charged on a Whitley District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of

  • Theft by unlawful taking
  • Criminal trespassing third-degree

Also, this subject was charged on a Knox District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:

  • Terroristic threatening – third-degree
  • Disorderly conduct – second-degree
  • Public intoxication – controlled substances
  • Resisting arrest
  • Possession of a controlled substance – third-degree
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
