WILLIAMSBURG, KY - The Whitley County Sheriff's Department is reporting that: For weeks, Deputy JB Coffey, Deputy Chad Estep, Deputy Chad Foley and Trooper Brandon Creekmore had been working Cumberland Falls Highway to reduce illegal drug activity in the area.

Whitley County deputies had received information of increased drug activity from an arrest earlier this year. On Sunday night, February 28, 2021 Deputy JB Coffey observed two vehicles in the parking lot of Oak Grove Elementary.

Upon interview, Deputy Coffey observed one male passenger to be under the influence. After removing the male from the vehicle, Deputy Coffey observed a large amount of Methamphetamine in the area where the passenger was sitting.

Deputy Coffey arrested Ester Stevenson age 29 of Corbin, KY for:

  • Trafficking in Methamphetamine
  • Public Intoxication

Mr. Stevenson was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
