LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Brent France along with K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler and CSO Brian France arrested Bruce E. Broughton age 40 of Lem Bruner Lane, London on Wednesday night March 17, 2021 at approximately 7:41 PM.
The arrest occurred at a business off KY 192 in London after Sheriff's investigators developed information on this subject’s whereabouts.
This individual was being sought by Sheriff's investigators following a pursuit of a black Audi on Chaney Ridge Road 3 miles north of London on March 7, 2021.
Deputy Brent France observed the vehicle being operated at a high rate of speed and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled and turned into a driveway and the driver Bruce Broughton fled on foot and was not located. Two other individuals in the vehicle were arrested.
Sheriff's investigators learned that this individual was wanted as a parole violator and had numerous outstanding warrants.
Bruce Broughton is charged on a Laurel district warrant of arrest obtained by Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Brent France charging:
- Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – motor vehicle
- Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
- Reckless driving
- Careless driving
In addition. this subject was charged on a Kentucky parole board mandatory reentry supervision violation warrant charging:
- Absconding parole supervision
- Failure to report to parole officer as directed regarding a conviction in Laurel Circuit Court on charges of Flagrant nonsupport
Also, this individual was charged on a Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant charging:
- Probation violation regarding a charge of Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
This subject was also charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:
- Failure to appear in court regarding child support
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
